DESCRIPTION:Pete DeSimone has been creating art since he was five years-old. Self-taught\, he has enjoyed having \nthe opportunity to display his work in a variety of venues throughout Massachusetts over the years \nincluding\, restaurants\, bars\, libraries\, coffee shops\, book stores and even frozen yogurt shops. Pete \nhas always felt his work should be “accessible” to the everyday observer and as such feels that giving \npeople exposure to art during their hectic days is an honor. “In the craziness of contemporary society \nwith technology and communication moving at such a rapid pace we hardly ever take the time to visit a \nmuseum or a gallery. To truly see\, we must take the time\, and by displaying my work in public venues I \nfeel I have a captured audience. I feel I can force them to take the time to see.” \nPete has worked in a variety of styles over the years\, from Abstract-Expressionism to Realism\, \nas well as working within various mediums\, oil\, acrylic\, charcoal and pencil. The series presented \nin this show are oil paintings based on photographs taken during a particularly harsh New England \nwinter.
