Canadian Singer/Songwriter Nancy Beaudette

A rich pallet of folk and singer/songwriter with a hint of country and a dash of Celtic music – all the ingredients of a Canadian Kitchen Party!

Nancy Beaudette doesn’t just write songs: she paints them. Listen to Nancy’s music and you may find yourself seeing pictures, glimpsing a rich palette of colors in her guitar-playing, and noticing that the beautiful honesty of her voice and her lyrics points directly to your own heart. For her fans and listeners, it will come as no surprise to learn that this award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter also happens to be an award-winning sign-maker. The artistry that has brought international success to her company, Sign-It Signs & Design, imbues every aspect of her singing, songwriting, and recording. With musical roots originating in Eastern Ontario, Nancy has been performing internationally for over thirty years. Well-crafted songs framed with poignant vocals and impassioned performance style have caught the attention of music icons, including Grammy winners Kathy Mattea, Jon Vesner & Louisa Branscomb, and hit writers like Kerry Chater & Lynn Gillespie, and other Nashville songwriters whom Nancy has had the pleasure of working and writing with. Nancy was a Canadian finalist in 2009 and 2010 in the Mountain Stage New Song Competition, and a finalist in both The 2010 New England Song Contest and the 2010 Acoustic Roundtable Song Competition. She currently collaborates in Nashville and performs throughout North America. On and off the road, Nancy offers creativity-coaching services to songwriters, musicians and artists.

Ron Carlson

Ron Carlson has been a fixture in the Central Massachusetts folk scene for almost forty years. Playing guitar, octave-mandolin, banjos and an occasional ukulele, his music includes influences from the British Isles, Ireland, and traditional American folk music. In his songs and tunes you’ll hear bits of such artists as Doc Watson, Andy Irvine, and other roots musicians from both sides of the pond.

Ron has performed at such venues as The Green Rooster Coffeehouse, John Henry’s Hammer Coffeehouse, The Café Fantastique, The Old Vienna Coffeehouse, and The Joe Davies Folk Festival. He performed at the Sober in the Sun festival as a member of the WISTA songwriters group. He has been a member of the Castle Hill String Band, and more recently, the group Riverbend. He was the 2011 winner of the Rose Garden Coffeehouse songwriter’s contest, and subsequently played at the Rose Garden in 2012. The two songs he won that contest with, “Ford Taurus” and “A Task Undone” may be found on YouTube, and will be part of his second recording, which he is currently working on, called “The Procrastinator”.

Ron’s first recording, “Songs We Sang Together”, is available from the artist, either at live performances or at 508-523-2958. A song from this recording, “When Fortune Rosins the Bow” was voted one of the 3 runners up in the Boston Folk Festival’s Singer/Songwriter’s Contest in September of 2004.
