Fernanda Pereira – Acoustic Music

Fernanda Pereira is a singer-songwriter and organizer for the transformative power of music in Worcester, MA. Fernanda deftly combines traditional folkloric and roots music from around the world, as well as more contemporary movements such as jazz and Americana as influences in her songwriting and her choice of covers, ranging from politically-charged anthems to heart-breaking love ballads. Fern was introduced to the Worcester grassroots and underground music and art scene in 2010, when she joined a group of Worcester counterculture artists working out of spaces such as The Sprinkler Factory, the WAG building and the adjacent Shop at 97D Webster, and co- founded Worcester s first musician cooperative, the Chimney Tree – a project that ran a practice space, shows and workshops in the post-industrial south area of the city.

Solo show, guitar and vocals. I’ll perform a set of classic social movement music from Brazil and the US, conveying the influence of artistic expression in culture and in the progress of history.
